I-485 filing date: July 17th, 2007
Paper based EAD application Received date: Aug 8th, 2008
LUD : Aug 12th, 2008
Card Production Ordered : Aug 16th, 2008
Card Received by mail : Aug 21st,2008 ( valid for 2 years)
Whole process took around 2 weeks.

I am in same situation who has sept 10th ND from TSC , no FP for me or my wife. I did open a SR and i got a response letter saying that either your FP has expired or clearance has not been received.. will send one by mail soon.
It has already been 45 days since the letter was dated. NO FP nothing.
Has going to IO helped anybody is getting a FP notice? That seems my last resort.
If its TSC then I do not think it will help at all. Whenever I talk to IO their only response if they are waiting for availability at local ASC.
So TSC people are out of luck.

In my opinion most people who are on H1 n IT with american companies, either got in there via OPT- H1 or H1 transfer.
That is very true! In very very extreme cases, you would find American companies recruiting directly from India for IT jobs! That may be like, one in 1000!

Gurus,
I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.
I have filed 485 with approved 140 back in june, 2007 with PD of March, 2003
Please help.

Really sorry to hear that but i do believe that with medical advances you will have a chance. Try to seek best medical care and advise. As others i suggest making an info pass appointment and discuss with an IO i am sure they will help.

I did try to talk to customer care but it was of no help.
They tell me to wait for 30 days and sometime 60-90days.
They say you will become actual permanent resident when you get the card The card is important.
You now USCIS don�t know when they will change their minds.
To better be on safe side to get it stamped on my passport. I took info pass on 09-11-08 it will be almost 30 days,
let�s wait and see

Another silent deshi employer here trying to scar H1s not to sue. I guess he created his ID (Join Date: Apr 2008) just for this.
Go and create another website in favour of deshi blood su&^%$rs called reverse-IV.org. Don't try to mock here.
Did you ask Attorney what happens if your employer still choose to Sue you? My friend's attorney told most of cases will be settled, but we might loose money up to 10K. Is it woth it doing? Also if we choose to fight, we might have to attend hearing (may be in different state based on your agreement). I am an employee too, and with you on this. I'd say if attorney guarentees he'll win our case we can go ahead.

Agree to all of them. but biggest thing to beat them all above in US is Medical insurance. you can live here in this country as long as everything is going well.
Talk about the Job situ, if you are out of job for a month, its a hell..but not in India.

Removal of country limits temporarily and permanently, will both require the support of the majority of both houses of the congress. It will require as much effort to to remove country limits temporarily as it will require to remove country limits permanently.
Some folks here just wants to remove country limits till the time they get their agree card i.e. for the span of 2 years. If removal of country limits is good for EB community and America, then why only remove it for 2 years ONLY.
Such a campaign is likely to divide this community. PLEASE DO NOT divide the community by supporting this mis-directed agenda.
If country caps can be removed temporarily then they can be removed permanently. But asking for less than what key lawmakers have already proposed less than 6 months back is like shooting ourselves in the foot. PLEASE DO NOT throw others under the bus. PLEASE!!!!

Just by becoming depressed the process will not get expedited..The process will take its own time so just forget and pray and enjoy your life.Life is much more than GC and getting depressed just for it and not sensical.It is not a life and death matter.Make your and dont spread it to your family...

1) Contacted Senator/Congressman/Governor
2) Filled 7001 form for Ombudsman
3) Called USCIS 10 times in last 10 days and come to know that everything is cleared on my and wife applications.
4) Strange thing applied EAD on July 15th 2008 and got approved today august 12 2008.

I don't mean to be rude but what do you propose? All I hear is if we ask for fixes "they" are going to come after us in some other way.
Should EB immigrants just accept to wait in line for 10-15yrs without knowing if they will be approved in the end?
I don't speak for IV but I gather IV doesn't condone abuse of the H1B program. We will be better off if the rules are imposed as they were intended.
these are very complex issues, where a lot of people try to trivialize or minimize. I haven't visited the forums in a while but doesn't look like much has changed. Division betwen IT and non IT. Dvision between people working at "full time positions". division between eb2 and eb3; country quota, etc.

Am in the same boat....485 submitted to NSC on July 2nd....140 pending in TSC. I called the Nebraska Service center at 1-800-375-5283, option 1-2-2-6-2-2-1 and the agent escalated my call ...then was told that if my I-140 was in Texas then the 485 will be tranaferred there. Its taking 6-8 weeks for receipt notices. On asking if transferring will take longer...she said no....will not take longer.
