I actually spoke to Customer service and I got 2 very different responses.
1. Wait till you are an old man and then the cards may just come !! (Just Kidding ) she actually said wait for 90 days.
2. Another CSR told me that the TSC is having technical issues and they are not able to access the Biometric information on approved 485's in their systems. She advised me to download Form I-90 from the USCIS site and fill that in and send it in - if you have a minor on the petition then also send 2 passport size pictures of the minor - this will allow them to access the Biometric screen when they process the I-90. We will get Biometric notices and the Minor will get the card - the Grown ups will get the Cards after the Biometrics are uploaded.
I have not done this - eventhough I downloaded the I-90 forms - I took a INFOPASS appt and if they suggest that I should do a I-90 then I can get that done right on the spot - I am carrying the filled I-90 with me. Anyhow I-90 is usually submitted to correct errors on the card or to replace a card - however this woman sounded quite knowledgeable - but then there are issues realted to where the I-90 should be sent - this is specially complicated if your case has been transferred a few times like mine was.
Best is to check with the guys/gals at Infopass -meeting.
All this was from the rep at the TSC - so not sure if this is applicable to all centers.
AGAIN THIS IS WHAT I HEARD FROM THE TSC REP - PLEASE USE THIS INFORMATION AT YOUR OWN RISK - I AM NOT SENDING THE I-90 ON MY OWN.
I will post my Infoapss exp on the 9th of september.

What she told is 'My case is approved and they are missing the Biometrics and I will be getting the mail to appear for the Biometrics'
...and She is not even giving me the chance to explain the scenario of uploading the Biometrics to TSC etc... (I have seen in the forums that for the numbers starting with WAC...Biometrics were uploaded to CSC and the TSC is unable to upload the Biometrics back to their system. And she told him that she will put a request to upload the Biometrics to TSC ASAP which may take 3 to 4 days)
When I tried to tell this, the answer I got is "I don't want to hear anything from you and you will be getting the Biometrics mail as we are missing"

I am sorry to tell you that if you are not a voter and you do not clarify that at the time you call or fax congressmen, your request is practically useless. Don't believe if others tell you otherwise.
I made phone calls to all (10 + 2) successfully left messages for 8 but the following 4 had issues,
Sen. Cornyn's and Sen. McConnell's office phone systems do not direct you to a voicemail system (I was calling after office hours so I couldnt speak to someone either), and,
I get a 'voicemail machine full' message from the Reid and Martinez offices.
Wonder if anyone else has faced the same problem.

In Your example, Is B working for the same company or different company in 2010. As you know experience working for the same company does not count towards EB2. B has to take another job at a different company to qualify for EB2. Am I correct in this?

By law the job should be in different company. However many desi employers are having two or more sister companies. They get it applied under another sister company's name.
Had it been a different company too this porting of date for B (my example above) is not justified. Because when B had originally applied he did not have the EB2 qualification/experience. He gained it later, so he should not be allowed to use the original date for EB2. The law should be the new perm date for the EB2 should be the priority date.

Guys,
I just got my H1B Extension approved (8th year extension).
Original H1B was valid until Sept 2008. Changed companies after 180 days(of I485 application) and applied for H1 transfer and extension for 3 years via new company. Finally got it approved after 3 months for 3 years(until May 2011).

What I find retarded is that this crap green card seems to be taking higher position than him getting better.

You will not take money, green card or anything after you die. Your wife will be more happy realizing that she spent some fantastic time with you. I wish and pray that you get better. We, people with EB3-I priority dates in 2002 2003 2004, should not blame others for our problem. The only way out of this mess for us, I think, is to port from EB3 to EB2. We all need to do it before they scrap that law. We are being too loyal to our original employers. Most of us were working for more than 8 years in the same company. It is time to move-on and search for greener pastures. We checked that there are around 20,000 EB3-I applications in front of us. That, @ 3000 applications per year, means more than 6 years of agonizing wait. We are already waiting for 8 years and I don't know whether we can take 6 more. I think only a mass-porting from EB3 to EB2 should be the answer.

My attorney said the checks should be payable to USCIS not DHS. The PD is always ur LC filed date. Receipt date is when the application is received and notice date is when they assing a LIN/wac number and take ur money.
If you download the 485 form from the following url and go to page six, it states
"The check or money order should be made payable to theDepartment of Homeland Security"
I believe previously it used to be USCIS. Now what I dont know is if they will accept checks made for USCIS or not.

Folks, when you sent the package(s) did you all opted to have some one sign the package(s) when they receive the package(s)? If you did, will it be possible that there is no one there to sign the package at USCIS when they receive the package(s) and USPS will wait for 5 days and since no one picked up the package(s) they will return it back to us?
